Begin the tour at Brežice Castle, which played an important role protecting the city throughout history. In the castle, a guide will show you the collections and describe the history of the castle. By prior arrangement, you can also tour the castle cellar of Vino Brežice, used for aging the best wines. With a glass of good wine, you can experience the excitement of the past and abandon yourself to the pleasures of noble aromas of the present under its mighty vaults. The tour then takes you to an area of preserved rural architecture. Artiče has interesting rural and sacral architecture. The Banova Homestead, unique from the point of view of ethnology, bears witness to the historical, architectural, and cultural heritage of the region. You can also stroll through Artiče’s orchards before continuing the route on the Bizeljsko-Sremiška Wine Road. You can round off the excursion with homemade food and drink at one of the many tourist farms or restaurants.
