The mighty Črmošnjice fir tree has reigned supreme in the forests of Kočevski Rog for centuries. It is regarded as one the largest Slovene fir tree because of its extraordinary dimensions. It is 44.70 m high, measures 6.00 m around its base, which has a diameter of 1.90 m, and the volume of timber is 40.60 cubic metres. In spite of the general decay of fir trees in Kočevski Rog, it is well preserved and estimated to be 260 years old.
