Kanin - Canin (Sella Nevea) ski resort is the first international ski resort in the region.
After they constructed a cable car and a new ski slope, they connected two ski resorts - Kanin in Slovenija with Sella Nevea in Italy.
The ski resort Kanin - Sella Nevea is accessible from both sides of mountain Kanin, the Slovenian and the Italian side, and you can ski on both sides of the mountain with the same ski pass. The ski resort is the highest one in the area, with a long ski season going from Decembre up to the May Day holidays.

Every year, in February or March, takes place Freeride battle. This is a competition of freeride skiers and snowboarders and it takes place just by the ski slopes of Kanin ski resort. For more information: www.freeridebattle.com/?lang=en

Emaus is another traditional event. It takes place every year on the Easter Monday on Kanin ski resort. Old-time skiers from all arround gather this day to show their skills in skiing with their antique equipment.

In summer time the area of ski resort becomes popular with mountain hikers who can choose between different mountain trails. Since autumn 2010 at the end of  the cable car there is also Interpretive nature trail Prestrelejniški podi - Kanin that presents the special features of Kanin mountain area.

The foothills of Mt. Kanin are popular with mountainbikers. There is one semi-demanding biking trail to Krnica and the demanding Kanin mountain bike park. In the summertime mountainbikers can also use the Kanin cable car up to the first station to avoid cycling up the hill.
