The distinct flatland village with approximately 60 inhabitants is regarded as the smallest village in the Municipality of Moravske Toplice. It is assumed that its name was derived from the family name (surname) of 'Lukač'. Even though it is small in size, it still represents a popular spot for visitors and tourists. The pristine fields surrounding the village are an attribute that has invited many a hiker and cyclist to take routes past and through Lukačevci. And another thing: Lukačevci has proven that even the fields of the smallest of villages can yield the vastest amounts of agricultural products.
The village is also the location of the Mala hiša – Small House, a regional animal shelter established in 2008.
