Kančevci is a separated village. It is one of the smallest villages in the Municipality of Moravske Toplice with approximately 60 inhabitants. It is located 10 kilometres from Moravske Toplice. The village is widely spread over the area and a particularly interesting site due to the varying landscape and a beautiful view over the Goričko area. A serviceable resting area for hikers and cyclists is available in the village. The patron saint of the village is St. Benedict, which is why Kančevci is often referred to in combination with him. Bedenik (348 m) – the most enchanting scenic outpost in the eastern part of Goričko, is located in the western part of the village. The parish church is situated uphill, with the Dom duhovnosti Kančevci – Kančevci House of Spirituality (built in 1993) located behind, close by. The Kančevci House of Spirituality is a place to which visitors frequently return. The faithful of various religions (from both Slovenia and abroad) meet here for spiritual exercises, lectures, meditations, seminars, and religious services. Due to the regular weekends of spirituality at the house, Kančevci have become a truly popular spiritual centre. The average age of the members of the local (Capuchin) order is 67 years. The influential national awakener and publicist Dr. Franc Ivanocy (1857 - 1913) was buried at the old cemetery nearby. His headstone was designed by J. Plečnik. A house near the birthplace of Mikloš Küzmič – the very first Catholic writer of Prekmurje, carries a memorial plaque dedicated to the writer.
