The village, which is located only a few kilometres from Moravske Toplice, lies south-east of Bogojina. It is a completely flat and distinctly farming village. Its distinguishing feature is thus the fact that a vast majority of the local farmers plant, cultivate, and grow their own produce. The fresh and domestically grown produce is displayed during the annual Vegetable Farmers' Day
, which is regularly organised by the local societies of Ivanci during the month of August as part of the Košičevi dnevi kulture – Košič's Days of Culture festival. Today, the village is home to approximately 250 people. Ivanci is an exciting place for leisure and recreational sports enthusiasts, who prefer cycling and hiking over a flatland area. Archaeological excavations conducted in the area have led to finds of remnants of ancient settlements, which were located here during the period of the Roman occupation. The place is also a site of a number of ancient burial mounds.
Ivanci is the birthplace of the father of the renowned Slovenian oenologist and ethnologist Dr. Slavica Šikovec (b. 1929, Grabe pri Ljutomeru).
