Slovene, English, Italian The Malovščevo Farm which lies in the village of Vitovlje surrounded by vineyards and forest, was the first open farm in the Goriška region and has long been famous for its homely welcome.
A visit to the farm is a wonderful gastronomic experience that will tantalise your taste buds with the specialities of the Vipava area, marvellously complemented by a fine selection of wines. Specialities include home-cured ham dried in the Bora, the wind that blows across the Karst, salami, home-made bread, minestrone, barley soup, genuine Vipava jota with sausage and ribs, omelettes, gnocchi, bleki, goulash, polenta with ham, and side dishes and vegetables typical of this region. Those with a sweet tooth can try apple, plum and peach strudels, cheese strudel and other desserts. Activities for guests include guided tours of the wine cellar with wine-tastings, grape-picking and the selection of the Queen of the Grape Harvest, St Martin's Day celebrations and, on Saturdays, country evenings with music and dancing.
Visitors can also set off to visit the church on a solitary hill above the village of Vitovlje, or walk the Vitovlje Trail. Also interesting are walks down country lanes, through vineyards and over fields, to a beautiful lake called Vogršček
