The Levar farm is only 300 metres away from the intermittent Cerknica Lake. The village inn has a model of the lake; there is also an ethnological collection and an interesting church.
 

The landlady will lay on the table home-made buckwheat, walnut, fruit, ham, corn or brown bread, as well as pork, beef or horse meat, all kinds of vegetables and dairy produce. But of course, before all that comes a small glass of home made brandy. Specialities of the house are obara (stew) served with buckwheat žganci, štruklji made with home made cottage cheese and butter, stuffed veal ribs and sponge cake.

In the vicinity of the village are Slivnica, Snežnik Castle, Rakov Škocjan, the winter-sports resort of Kalit, and the Postojna and Križna caves. A visit to the karst caves, carbide torch in hand, accompanied by an experienced caver, can also be arranged.
