The Apat Farm is situated on a hill above Gaberke, between Šoštanj and Velenje, and offers a marvellous view of the valley, Lake Šoštanj, Gora Oljka, Smrekovec, Uršlja Gora, etc. Your hosts endeavour to ensure that the table is spread with as many local and home-made specialities as possible. During your visit you will have the chance to sample: minced lard, bread from the bread oven, home-made sausages, savoury strudels, sour soup and, for vegetarians, various vegetable soufflés, salads and more besides. Nada, the mistress of the house, will also be happy to offer you the house speciality – Nada's pastries. The farm is suitable for families with children. The farm makes a good base for visits to local spas (Topolšica or Dobrna), the Velenje Tourism and Recreation Centre and Horse Riding Club and the Coal Mining Museum. Golte, Uršlja Gora, Gora Oljka, Paški Kozjak and Smrekovec are among the popular hiking destinations in the area.
