This traditional event on the river Drava – which first took place in the year 1985 – attracts many visitors and prominent guests to the riverbank. Join them as well!

The key purpose of the event, where rafters on a raft christen a young rafter and at the same time a splendid party is on going with an attractive music and a folklore program, is to preserve the culture of rafting, which was once the most important transport and shipment activity on the river Drava.

Holiday on the river Drava

This tourist-ethnographic event is a part of the event “Holiday on the river Drava” - and is dedicated to the traditional way of transporting and shipping on the river, once the most important transportation route. On both days old forms of river transport such as rafts, rancas and šajkas will sail on the river Drava, as well as newer ones that still today are used for sports and tourist purposes.
