Vinotoč Urisk lies on a plateau surrounded by vineyards at the foot of the Goričko Nature Park and offers a marvellous view of the Prekmurje region. Its two-hundred-year-old wine cellar is the oldest in Prekmurje and the winery epitomises the idyllic Prekmurje way of life.

If you want to taste excellent wines and discover the flavours of Prekmurje cuisine, a visit to the winery is an excellent idea. Dishes such as pereci, flat cakes, gibanica (Prekmurje's famous layer cake) and zlevanka contain a wealth of flavours.


You are welcome to take part in grape-harvesting and St Martin's Day celebrations. You can even help with the work in the vineyard, or go mushroom-picking. The winery also organises presentations of local crafts including creative workshops at which you can learn how to make things from plant fibres or the basics of embroidery, carving, decorating Easter eggs, etc. The winery is an excellent base from which to visit nearby Lake Bukovnica and its "energy points". Also worth a visit is Dobrovnik – Slovenia's only tropical garden, boasting an enormous variety of orchids. In summer and winter alike, a visit to the spas of Moravske Toplice or Lendavske Toplice can be balm for a tired body and spirit.
