The Savus trail

TRC Savus 1433 Radeče
03 56 87 941, 03 56 87 940
Radeče is situated where the spirited flow of the Sava is calmed and the waters of the Sopota empty out in tranquil beauty. It was once a rafting town and the story of rafting remains alive here today. The tales of the locals are matched by excellent food, superb local wine and the fascinating Savus Trail, which runs alongside one of the longest and most beautiful angling trails in Europe. The Savus trail is based on an innovative interpretation of natural and cultural heritage and shows the great importance of water, flora and fauna to the area. A local guide will unravel the history of the Sava and its significance for the surrounding population. You'll learn why water is so important to us and our environment, and get a little help identifying some of the main tree species in the park. You can try your hand at fishing under the expert guidance of a local fisherman, and the array of local specialities and wines will ensure that you don't go without as you make your way round. You might wish to end your guided walk with a fine raft cruise and learn more about the town's rafting tradition and the adventures of its raftsmen.
