At the beginning of the 18th century, a whipping post or 'prangar' was erected near the ancient fort, and the present day site of the Community Hall. The 'prangar' was used for the punishment of lesser transgressions (theft, illegal hunting or 'raubšic', adultery) and for transgressions against the nobility of the Poljanska valley. They may also have punished citizens for smuggling which bloomed in this area in the middle of the 17th century. The length of punishment depended on the crime commited and could last for several days. It was not intended that the punished be ohysically abused, but there were exceptions. Thieves of livestock were punished by having the stolen animal's entrails hung around their neck.
