The Španov vrh ski area is four kilometers from the center of Jesenice. The bottom of the single-seat chairlift is at 981 meters above sea level in Planina pod Golico, the middlestation on Črni vrh is at 1,184 meters, and the top station on Španov vrh is at 1,361 meters. The ski trail winds down theslopes of Španov vrh facing west, in clear weather offering amarvelous view of the Julian Alps, the Karavanke Mountains, and the upper Sava River Valley. The ski area is suitable for recreational and more demanding skiers, and ski clubs and other groups organize races here. There is a convenient parking lot below the ski area, and there are snack bars at the lower and middle lift stations. Overnight accommodation is available in the village of Planina pod Golico.
