The mighty mountain Peca rises to the North of Slovenia as the first 2000-metre mountain from the East. Under its peak,
king Matjaž sleeps in a cave.
While exploiting lead-zinc ore for more than 300 years, miners carved a labyrinth with around 1000 km of pits in the heart of the mountain. A unique cycling path is set up in one such pit. Here, you can experience an
extreme adventure. With headlights and in the company of a guide, you can cycle more than 5 km of this unique underground path from one valley to another. Moreover, you will experience the mining throb under Peca and become familiarised with ores and minerals in their natural environment. The ride ends in front of a mining museum, where numerous collections of ores, minerals and photographs from the lives of miners can be admired; moreover, a real miner's apartment is also presented.
