The modest and simple church of Saint Dominic was erected at the Etbin Kristan square in the 15th century. It has one nave, a small presbytery, and a bellflower over the main façade. It is dedicated to St. Mary and St. Dominic.

Once the church was an isolated building on the outskirts of the town, but since Izola started expanding in the previous century, the church is now in the very centre of the town.
