This is a purée of boiled potatoes and turnip leaves, seasoned with grated cheese and cracklings. Instead of turnips, other vegetables can also be used, such as cabbage, radicchio, dandelion, string beans, or beans. The name of the dish comes from the word “štokati”, which means “to mash”.
