Gasper's chestnut tree

++386 3 568 55 34
The home of Slovenia's thickest chestnut tree is a farm belonging to Gasper Kisek. Placed in a secluded, yet beautiful environment with wonderful views at an altitude of 475 metres above sea level, the farm's attraction is not only the tree itself, but also carved masterpieces made by Gasper himself and placed all over the farmery. To add another pinch of extravagance to the otherwise typical Slovenian farmery, ostriches have been bred here for many years now.
Nevertheless, the majority of visitors get fascinated by the mighty chestnut tree. The old tree, which is 18 metres high and has a trunk-circumference of 10,71 metres, has a crown with four tops, although the central one has dried up in the past. To the joy of the visitors the mighty chestnut still bears fruit that can be eaten in the form of delicious home-made cakes baked by Gasper's wife.
