The Mangart valley is located between Planja, Mangart, Mangart saddle, Čez Stože saddle and Predelske glave.
Through the valley goes the road to Mangart saddle (2100 m) which makes it the highest mountain road in Slovenija. Through the valley flows Mangartski potok, Mangart torrent. At the altitude 1295 m is Mangrtska planina, mountain farm, and at 1906 m there is Mangrtska koča mounatin hut.

The road to Mangrtsko sedlo is open between June and October and these are the bussiest months in the valley. During the rest of the year it simbolises wild and unspoiled nature.
