River Kolpa is right hand affluent of river Sava. It represents border between two republics, Slovenia and Croatia. It is 292km long but 113km of its riverbed is actually the border between those two states.  Karstic spring of Kolpa river lies 313 above the sea level in Croatia. 
Kolpa is extraordinary river, because it is relatively clean, picturesque and not well known. We can see its variegation all the way along its stream. It offers different kinds of recreation and represents fishing wealth. River is easy for rowing and is ideal for the beginners. But it is better to have kayak or canoe after heavier rain, because on the river is more than 50 dams, which are everything that remains from the time, when on the river stood mills, saws, and smithies. It is ideal pleas for people who love peace and camping near the water, because river Kolpa is in summer time warmer. In sunny weather we can swim in its upper stream for a month and in lower stream even two summer months.
