This museum in Bohinjska Bistrica bears the name of the former owner of the house, Tomaž Godec (1905–1942), an excellent athlete, promoter of skiing, tourism, and mountaineering in Bohinj, and a Partisan shot during World War II. Two permanent museum collections are on display: the Leatherworking Museum with a preserved home workshop and the Little War Museum of the Soča (Isonzo) Front 1915–1917.
The museum also houses a permanent exhibition of paintings by Valentin Hodnik and other members of the Alpalik group.
During a meeting in 1939 held in Tomaž Godec?s tannery, the leadership of the Communist Party was constituted as the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia.

Special feature:
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia was established in this house between March 15 and 18, 1939.
