Located in the former Coronini Manor in the center of Tolmin, the Tolmin Museum presents the rich cultural heritage of the Soča region. In the permanent “Deposits of History along the Soča River” exhibition, the Early Iron Age finds from Most na Soči are outstanding, and there is an attractive presentation of the 1713 Tolmin Peasant Rising.
It houses a rich ethnological and arheological collection. The attractive display on life in the Tolminsko region includes a presentation of the rich local history and life through the ages in the area as well as the struggles for justice, the most important of them being the Tolmin peasant uprising of 1713.
On prior arrangement, the curators of the museum organise guided tours for groups to cultural monuments in the immediate surroundings of Tolmin, such as the German Ossuary, the church of the Holy Spirit in Javorca and the Most na Soči archaeological site.
The museum includes a wedding hall, a gallery with regular exhibitions and a museum shop.
