The blacksmith shop, where you can find a press and wooden chamber, both remnants from the old building, has recently been renovated and is now maintained by the local development society.
Members of the society named the workshop Pr Katr in Dovje. Katra, who used to live in the house, was a hardworking and virtuous lady who cared for the exterior of the house, thus making the blacksmiths’ shop a focal point of Dovje.
The shop sells farm products and produce. You can buy home made bread, chocolate pastries and walnut cakes, as well as home-brewed spirits and mead. You will also find a good selection of gifts and products made especially for special occasions.
The local development society has been awarded medals of merit for the quality of the homemade food products at the all-Slovenian event, which takes place each year in Ptuj.
