The collection of Avgust Černigoj Gallery contains more than 1400 works. An arrangement of approximately 400 exhibited works tries to present a cross-section of Černigoj's artistic opus and the fields he was involved in during his more than 60 years' long artistic career. Various kinds of prints, from woodcuts to linocuts, copper engravings and aquatints constitute the major part of his work. As to the contents, he undertook figural motives and the world of objects, as well as pure abstraction. With great patience and precision he engraved various elements and symbols in mostly small formats and remained true to Constructivism and its principles, which he chose after his study in the famous Weimar School Bauhaus. 
Nevertheless, and thanks above all to the assistance of the group "Novi Kolektivizem" (new collectivism), which designed and implemented the present installation, we now stand before a magnificent opus of this peculiar and original artist with extreme personal power, whom, unfortunately, the official critique has for many years underestimated and ignored. Of this artist who, although hurt by unjust crtitiques, never sis bend but remained true to himself, to his principles and to art until the end, to which subordinated and dedicated his life.
