This exhibition features a series of photographs by the world renowned photographer Josef Koudelka, depicting the ancient monuments of the Mediterranean region.

The photographic series, entitled Vestiges, was created during Koudelka's travels to the Mediterranean countries between 1991 and 2012. The photographer visited more than two hundred ancient Greek and Roman archaeological monuments and created the most comprehensive photographic record of them to date. His Ljubljana exhibition features a screening of 180 photographs of ancient monuments.

Josef Koudelka, born in 1938 in Czechoslovakia, is considered to be one of the world's most renowned masters of photography. His outstanding career began to take off in 1968, when, still as an unknown photographer, he documented the events surrounding the Soviet occupation of Prague and received an award for his work. Since 1970, Koudelka has been living in France. He is a member of Magnum, the world's most renowned photography agency. His work, which has been published in numerous monographs and exhibited around the world, has won him a host of prestigious awards.
