"Štok" is another name of Manor of Weichselbergers, the actual Laško mansion. It was set up in the 16th century by Janez Meusenreiter and was given its name after Žiga Weichselber-Višnjegorski, a provincial prince administrator and the judge in Laško, who bought it to become its possession. In fact, the mansion passes for the doyen of the local buildings, however the mistery about its origin has still been kept secret. The manor houses the central library of the town now. If a book is wished to be read or more detailed? information on the country gained, a social event or an exhibition visited, the public accessible electronic library catalogue revised, a workshop to be taken part in, and yet many more to be worth one's attention to be paid to, the Laško Mansion shall satisfy any visitor according to his expectation. Up to recent years, the mansion housed a museum collection. As the result of the library being expanded due to its enlarged selection of items, the collection was moved to the nearby Kislingers' house.
