The very beginnings of the Cultural Centre date back to the times of the Sokols, since the Sokol Society was one of the first societies and clubs yet established in former Yugoslavia. They used to held numerous social events to raise money for the construction of the hall to be officially opened in 1933. Many drama performances and sports events took place in it, and it was lively also in front of the hall – bowling, rowing on the Savinja river, and even more. The hall was later given a new name "Dom Partizana" and finally "Dom Dušana Poženela" used by primary school children to have physical education there. Today, the building is renewed and modernized Cultural Centre, which can boast of variegated programme of events and exhibitions and to act as a centrepoint of the cultural happening of the region.
