In the past, a lot of granaries were built on the Slovene territory and used by people to store farm products in these masterpieces of carpentry craft, so tipical for the majority of farms in this area. They made their progress in the late Middle Ages and have maintained themselves up to nowadays. One of the most beautifully restored and renewed granaries is situated at the Aškercs' home in Senožeti, and yet another "akher" at the Bezgovšeks', informally the Ogrinc's, in Trobni Dol (Figure). The lower part is stone masoned while the part above is wooden. According to the proprietor's records, the granary is supposed to be more than 400 years old and was primarily used as a lodging place. It has already been visualized by painters, f.i. Kržišnik or Darinka Pavletič-Lorenčak.
