This is a diverse tour for those who enjoy ascents and descents. The Šebreljsko-Krniška planota plateau, caught between the thick forests of the Vojskarska planota plateau to the south and the Cerkljansko Hills to the north, will enchant you with numerous wild ravines and wonderful views. During the arduous ride, a rest in the village of Šebrelje, a settlement of some fifty farms at an altitude of 600 meters, is a good idea. Šebrelje was quite famous for its special climate before World War I, and you can understand why as you breathe deeply during the ascent. . . . Know also that you are riding across land where Neanderthal man walked thousands of years ago. A 55,000-year-old Neanderthal flute was recently discovered at Divje babe, an archeological site in the precipitous area above the village! Another tip: don’t leave Šebrelje without tasting the local dried meat delicacy, šebreljski želodec.
