The view
There is not any particular view from the hut due to its location on the lower part of the plateau. However, there is a vast view from Vivodnik, where a viewing tower was built by the MA Gornji Grad in 1981.
From there the following can be seen:
towards the east the elongated ridge of Menina which continues in Dobrovlje, farther are Paški Kozjak, Boč and Donačka gora; towards the southeast there are the Posavje Hills (Posavsko hribovje) with Velika planina, Kum, Mrzlica, Lisca and Bohor, and behind lie Medvednica and Gorjanci; on the south one can see the nearby Šipek Hills between the valley Tuhinjska dolina and Črni graben, and on the horizon Snežnik, Javorniki and Nanos; the most beautiful is the view towards the west where behind the Velika planina alpine pasture rise the peaks of the Savinja Alps, and left of them the Škofja Loka Hills (Škofjeloško pogorje), Jelovica and a part of the Julian Alps with Triglav; from the west to the north rise Lepenatka, Veliki Rogac, Olševa, Raduha and Peca and on the north first Golte can be seen above the Upper Savinja Valley (Gornja Savinjska dolina), and behind it Uršlja gora, Paški Kozjak and Pohorje.
