This open farm, lying at 639 metres above sea level and offering a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside, is located in Vareje, in a pretty Brkini village.

The Benčič Farm is open to visitors on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, when the farm kitchen serves up specialities from the Brkini district. As well as hot dishes you can try Brkini prosciutto, dried shoulder of pork, pancetta, salami and freshly baked bread. If you feel like an aperitif, your hosts will suggest a glass of Brkini plum brandy, bilberry liqueur and other fruit brandies. Those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks are sure to enjoy apple juice made from the farm's own apples.

The farm is a great choice for cycling enthusiasts, since it lies on the Divača cycling circuit. Walkers can visit the little church of St Servul (Socerb) in Artviže, where you can enjoy the beautiful view and ring the wishing bell. And if you still have time, you can visit the Škocjan Caves (6 km), Divača (12 km), Sežana (24 km), Lipica (19 km), and so on.
