The church stands on a slight slope above the village. The ground plan of the nave shows considerable similaterity to the architecture of the Sv. Frančišek Ksaverij Parish Church in Radmirje. The present appearance of the church is the result of reconstruction in the 1730's after a pilgrimage to the altar of Ignatius Loyola began here in 1715. The main and side altars are Baroque works from the beginning of the 18th century. In 1989, the reconstruction of the burned roof above the lanterns of the cupolas was completed. The church is surrounded by a walled cemetery.
