Address: Solinarska ulica 2 6000 Koper
The Percauz House (pronounced Percaush) is among the oldest buildings in Koper. It's located on the corner of the Valvazor and Solinarska streets, in the narrow streets of the former neighborhood Brazzolo, near the town gate and the square of the same name (today Tomažič square). The house can be dated to the 14th century, even if is possible to detect an even older origin and the later buliding in of the windows. The most interesting part are the pairs of biforas that can be seen in the upper storey and represent stonemasonery products of high quality. On the house also various stone circles can be found and those are also common on the houses of several towns in the mediterranean. In the folk memory the building is known as the "Tribunal vecchio", which maybi indicates an imporant civic function in the past. The name used today referst to the last known owner of the house.
