If you begin from Semič, the Wine Road runs via Ručetna vas, Rožanec, Otovec, Talčji vrh, Naklo, and Stražnji vrh to Doblička gora and Grič, and ends on Tanča gora. A stop in Črnomelj is very interesting: after the tour of the city, taste top Bela krajina wines in a Črnomelj wine shop. Continue toward Vinica, turn right in the village of Kanižarica toward Stari trg, past Doblič and on to Tanča gora. Treat yourself to Bela krajina cold cuts at the Bahor Tourist Farm (18). Now, the Wine Road runs across Jelševnik to Stražni vrh, where the Church of Sv. Miklavž with its wonderful wood ornamented ceiling stands in the middle of a vineyard. Discover the rare black cave salamander at the Jelševnik spring. Continue to Talčji vrh and past Otovec to the main Črnomelj-Semič road. Turn off to Rožanec, leave your car in the village, and seek out the tranquil forest dell with the mystical Mithraic temple.
