The association for cultural and arts activities Nova was founded in 1999 on the initiative of members of former sets No Way and Vatavuhu. They passed on their culture and represented their hometown to the rest of Slovenia long before the association was established. In autumn of 1999, the set Dej še`n litro also joined and soon became the highlight of the institution, until the beginning of 2006. Dej še`n litro was the only set that succeeded in breaking through the border of Slovenia, thanks to their temperamental Balkan rhythms. In 2003, the big band orchestra was established upon requests of numerous musicians from the Southern Primorska region. Unfortunately, it did not last for long due to the magnitude of the project. In 2004 the youth set Jazzwa was created by musicians, aged from 14 to 18. Their main goal is to inspire and transfer their enthusiasm for jazz to as many adolescents as possible. In 2005, the set Bomango also joined us and played exotic Latin rhythms at numerous summer festivals across Slovenia. The association’s most important achievement is surely the acquiring of the premises in which the jazz club was established, making it the only jazz club in the region of Primorska and across the Italian border. The association is currently supporting the next projects: Donald Trumpet is the sequel to the Dej še`n litro project, Jazz-wa, Acoustic Quartet, Bassment. The Jazz Hram is Divača’s genuine cultural location, offering music evenings, with emphasis on live jazz concerts and other less popular music styles. The concerts take place in the enchanting atmosphere of the Karst cellar 3 times a month 26 on Saturdays, from the end of October to the end of May.
