Strehovci is a settlement lying on flat land by the Murska Sobota-Lendava road and among the vineyards of the hill area known as Strehovske Gorice. Crosses stand at the centre of the village and at all five entrances to the settlement. The flat part consists of carefully tended farmland, while the higher, hilly areas are given over to viticulture. A number of old wine cellars still survive here. In shady woodland near the village, the Bukovniški Potok stream has been dammed to form a lake. Above it stands the little forest chapel of St Vitus. A large crowd gathers here every year on 15 June, the Feast of St Vitus, to hear Mass. Some years ago radiesthesia practitioners discovered sources of earth energy near the chapel. Earth energy is believed to have a beneficial effect on the human organism.
