In Slovenia you can water ski on the sea and on some lakes – notably Lake Ptuj. In Portorož, in addition to equipment hire and tow boats, water skiing courses are also available. In recent years wakeboarding, which involves riding a special 'wakeboard' towed by a motorboat, has been growing in popularity.
