The Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) is the national umbrella tourist board, whose purpose is to plan and carry out the promotion of the country as a tourist destination, primarily in foreign markets.
STB is the national tourist board, and the only such institution in Slovenia.
Representative office in BeneluxThe primary tasks of the office are market communication of Slovenia’s tourist services in the markets of the Benelux countries, communication with journalists, support for marketing Slovenia’s services in tour operator and travel agent programmes, and it uses a wide variety of PR and marketing tools, ranging from fairs to participation in the management of international associations and organisations, for instance in both the associations of foreign tourist representatives, ANTOR and Meetings Professional International (MPI), and including conferences on the topic of tourism in South Eastern Europe under the auspices of the European Commission. The office devotes special attention to strategic partners and events in the area of promoting Slovenian wine and food, open-air tourism (the white, green and blue range of recreational activities), conference and business tourism, health resorts and wellness, while the major challenge is offering prestige tourist products in this demanding market. One of the office’s special tasks is changing the market segments of those from Benelux who travel to Slovenia, and increasing the daily spending of our guests.
