A dispersed village in the norhern part of the Šentilj basin, beneath the northern hillsides of Koželj and the plateau of Ponikva with Sevčnik Mountain to the south. The valley bottom used to be fairly marshy, but drainage has provided favourable conditions for fruit-growing and a well known tree nursery. Arnače is the seat of the parish Šentilj pri Velenju with the Church of St. Ilja (St. Egidij), a first through fourth grade primary school, an inn and a fire station.
