Sela is a small village on the edge of the Karst plateau and has a magnificent view on the Gulf of Trieste. By the main road are several houses with walled yards. On the village square is a parish church of Mary’s Assumption which was built in 1929 and a recently renovated village well. Not far from the road Sela – Vojščica is an ancient fort with a partially preserved defence wall. In the village vicinity you can explore some Karst caves: Trščica, Ljubljanca, Figovca, Dolina and Drejčkova jama. Between Sela and Rebro is a small hollow. In Sela is also a building of Kraški vodovod (water supply) with a reservoir. Here it is possible to see the course of the water supply in Karst. In Sela lived Filip Peric (1886 – 1955), a journalist and the last chief editor of Edinost of Trieste.

Automobiles : You can arrive to Sela from Brestovica; from Vojščica; or on the main road Kostanjevica – Opatje selo take the left turning and drive through Hudi Log and Korita.
