Wide village surrounded by wall with settlements Pared and Ledenica. In Pared there is the largest ledenica/ice cave (built and covered sinkhole) on Karst in which the locals kept the ice which they chopped up in the winter and stored it till summer and after that they were carrying it to Trieste where they were selling it. On the hill, next to the village, there is St. Mary’s church, where every year they celebrate “kačišnica” around 8th of September. That is a village festivity, which is a part of preserved cultural heritage of the village. Ancient road is crossing the village on which they used to transport loads from nearby villages to Istria, besides (alongside) which once stood MITNICA(customs house).
Automobiles : Turn left for kačiče Pared on the main road Ljubljana-Koper between Divača and Kozina.
