In the ground floor of the museum is an exhibition of more than 1,200 fossils from Stane Bačar's private collection, which also includes some very rare specimens. Some of them have been found in this area for the first time ever and have thus been named after the villages and places in the Vipava Valley.
In the first floor of the museum you can take a look at the exhibition Fluvio Frigido – Castra – Floviou – Ajdovščina, which presents the rich history of the town of Ajdovščina, from prehistory to the early Middle Ages. The exhibition is focused mainly on the population of the area and was established due to longlasting archeological excavations and researches of historical documents.
