Ljubljana's International Biennial of Graphic Arts, held since 1955, is the largest and one of the most acclaimed events of its kind in the world. Over its more than 50-year history it has received overwhelming response not only from artists and experts but also from the public.
Apart from its main exhibition, the 30th Biennial of Graphic Arts will include two exhibitions of work by the winners of the previous edition of the Biennial, an exhibition on the history of the Biennial, held at the CD Gallery, an international symposium, and several accompanying exhibitions referred to as 'art satellites'. The curator of the main exhibition will be Deborah Cullen PhD.
The two exhibitions traditionally dedicated to the winners of the previous edition of the Biennial will present works by the 2011 Grand Prix winner Regina José Galindo, which will be on view at the Jakopič Gallery, and works by the 2011 Honorary Award winner Miklós Erdély, set to be on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova (MSUM).
The accompanying exhibitions, referred to as 'art satellites', will be held at Ljubljana Castle and Ljubljana's Kresija Gallery, the Calcografia Nacional in Madrid, and the Torre di Porta Nuova in Venice.
