iEmona, located in the Chopinov prehod underpass in the Kongresni trg square, is an original museum presentation and an information point about the legacy of the Roman city of Emona, which occupied part of the area of the present Ljubljana city centre.
The presentation includes the in-situ archaeological remains of an Emonan pavement, a virtual projection, a model of Emona, a film presentation about the city and its life in Roman times, and an information terminal providing exhaustive information about the history of Emona in Slovenian and English. Visitors to iEmona can also view the remains of the northern city gate of Emona, located in the immediate vicinity of the information point.
If you choose to take a self-guided circular tour of the archaeological remains of Roman Ljubljana, the iEmona information point can serve as a perfect starting point. Further information about the archaeological tour and the ticket required to complete the route are available from the City Museum of Ljubljana.
Schedule: iEmona is open daily from 9:00 to 21:00.
Admission is free.
