Do you require transport from a neighbouring airport?

You can land at one of the nearby airports in a neighbouring country and then come to Slovenia by bus, train or rent-a-car. Transport from the nearby airports is also available from budget transport operators.

You can also come to Slovenia from the neighbouring airports by rail. There is a direct rail link between Trieste and Ljubljana.

Klagenfurt Airport

Bus:

The bus stop at Klagenfurt airport is located immediately at the main entrance.

Between the airport and the main railway station in Klagenfurt, there are city buses (no. 40 and 45) available between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., which run every 30 minutes. 

Train:

Regional trains between the station at Klagenfurt airport and the main railway station run about once an hour. From the main railway station, there are several available connections to Villach, from where you can continue your journey to Slovenia. For the timetable between Klagenfurt and Villach click here. Taxi:

The taxi stop is situated immediately next to the passenger terminal. You can order a taxi here.

Rent-a-car:

At the Klagenfurt airport, you can rent a car at one of the rent-a-car providers. The counters of the providers are located on the ground floor of the passenger terminal, where they will be happy to provide you with accurate information and prices.

Graz Airport

Bus and train:

The bus stop (Graz airport) is located immediately in front of the main building. You can check the city bus timetable on here.

The railway station (Graz/Feldkirchen airport, urban railway S5) is about 300 meters away from the terminal.

There are several available daily railway connections from Graz to Slovenia (Maribor and Ljubljana), which can be found on here.

Trieste Airport

Bus:

The Ronchi dei Legionari (Trieste) airport has excellent road and motorway connections and regular public bus transport lines. At the airport, take the bus number 51 to the city of Trieste. There are several buses running every day from the station in Trieste to Slovenia. More information on timetables can be found on the website.

Taxis are available in front of the Arrivals entrance from 8 a.m. to midnight.

Venice Airport

Bus and train:

If you are travelling to Slovenia from the Venice airport (Marco Polo), you must first take an ATVO bus to Mestre railway station in Venice:

You can buy the ticket on the bus. At the Mestre railway station in Venice, then find a train to Trieste. For getting from Trieste to Slovenia, we recommend that you take a bus (as described above). The bus and railway stations in Trieste are only separated by a road.

Zagreb Airport

Bus and train:

From the Zagreb airport, first take a ride towards the Zagreb main bus station (you can find the timetable here). The ride takes about 25 minutes. From Zagreb, continue your journey towards Ljubljana. You can find the timetable here.

If you want to travel by train, take the tram no. 2 or 6 from the Zagreb bus station to the main railway station, from where there are several available daily railway connections to Slovenia that can be found here.

Pula Airport
