Vaneča is a village that extends to the left and right of the valley of the Mačkovski Potok stream, through which the railway line to Hungary also passes. Most of the houses are on the slopes of the first two big hills of the Goričko region: Ribnjek (317 metres) and Vrbnjek (298 metres). The village is divided into several areas, known by their country names: Šavlov Rob, Rastike, Hermanov Breg, Berketov Varaš, Cigutovi, Trokšarov Breg, Pavlov Rob, Vršič, Slivnjekov Rob and so on. Today Vaneča is the fourth largest village in the municipality in terms of population (after Puconci, Pečarovci and Bodonci), with 124 households and 432 inhabitants. In terms of agriculture, viticulture is the most developed sector in this area, and always has been. There are around 25 hectares of vineyards and over 200 winemakers. Most vineyards have an area of between 0.05 and 0.15 hectares. These are followed by vineyards with an area of between 0.15 and 0.4 hectares. Finally there are the vineyards larger than 1 hectare.
