A Roman road across the Mlake pass once lead southwest of Črniče, a very old settlement. The most prominent of the village houses is the isolated farmstead called Huh's Mill with a mill and an oak grove. There is an military cementery from World War 1 in Črniče. At the top of the rocky knoll lies the hamlet of Tabor, which is still populated. Its wall was built in 1413 as a defence against the Turks and the Venetians. Tabor is an importand archaeological site. The church in Ravne above Črniče contains a Baroque gold altar from 1687. Other valuable furnishings include a wooden Gothic statue of st. John the Evangelist from the end of the 15th century and a small fresco.
Points of distinction : In the Črniče Church archives yuo can find a written record dating back in 1583. The reason for the attention being paid to it is the fact that it is written in the Glagollitic Alphabet.
