The region of Bela krajina is interlaced with vineyards, so called steljniki – places where they make litter for animals, and mighty birches, where above all the viticulture has very long tradition. Owing it to warm climate and variety of soil the people from the region of Bela krajina grew so many excellent sorts of wine.

• Martinova pojedina – the Saint Martin feast and other local dishes may be offered to you also on the excursion tourist farms: Bajuk in Radovica, Bahor on Tanča gora, Dragovan in Grabrovec by Metlika, By Jokovčan in Anzlova Gora by Semič and by the Klajn family in Selo by Semič, if pre-arranged.

• Appetizing dishes of the Saint Martin feast and the wines of the region of Bela krajina may also be offered to you at the following restaurants or eating houses: Veselič in Podzemelj, Kapušin in Krasinec by Kolpa, Badovinac in Jugor and Župančičev hram in Dragatuš.

The open air performances in November

• The Saint Martin feast in the region of Bela krajina: in Semič, Metlika and Črnomelj on Saturday of Saint Martin.
• Vesela jesen (Merry Autumn) and Darovi jeseni (Gifts of Autumn) in the centre of Metlika in November.
• Open-door day in the wine cellars in Metlika and its surroundings, the middle of November.
