A linear settlement in the municipality of Ravne na Koroškem in the Meža Valley, Dobja Vas lies along the Ravne na Koroškem-Prevalje road at the foot of Navrški Vrh, the hill lying to the south of the village. The old part of the settlement is clustered round the former Dob manor house. Around the old centre is a group of new houses and residential districts spreading along the southern slope of the hill above the valley. Owing to its vicinity to Ravne na Koroškem – the largest town in the Koroška region – and the neighbouring industrial centre of Prevalje, this formerly agricultural settlement has undergone urbanisation and gradually become a suburb of Ravne. A light industrial/services zone serving Ravne has developed along the banks of the river Meža. According to the latest statistical data the area of Dobja Vas has a population of 707.
