Rafting, kayaking and canyoning in Radovljica

Print Add to travel planner
The Sava, Sava Dolinka and Sava Bohinjka offer plenty of opportunities for trips in a raft, miniraft or kayak, with adrenaline-fuelled canyoning possibilities nearby. Trips down the Sava between the villages of Lancovo and Posavec are suitable for families and can be concluded with a pleasant picnic in the surrounding nature.

Rafting
Water sports and nature enthusiasts will find a trip on the rapids in a rubber raft a thrilling experience. Each boat can accommodate between 6 to 8 persons and is navigated by an experienced guide. Team members are allocated all necessary equipment (helmet, neoprene wetsuit and shoes, lifejacket and a paddle) and can make their contributions felt by pitching in with some rowing during the trip. Mastering the rapids and other river barriers guarantees an exciting sporting experience. In Radol’ca, rafting trips are organised on the Sava Dolinka, the Sava Bohinjka and the Sava; what’s more, excursions to the Soča Valley and rafting trips on the Soča, are also organised.

Minirafting
A miniraft is a rubber boat which you can either use for yourself or join others on guided organised trips. This method of transport is suitable for both calm and wild rivers, as well as lakes, and does not require high water levels. It is great for exploring the river as you can freely choose the speed at which you travel and the number of stopovers to be taken. A miniraft offers a completely different experience of the Sava and its banks, and can hold either 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.

Kayaking
Rowing and water sport enthusiasts will find kayaking on the Sava an enthralling experience. No previous experience is required as you can either join an organised course or hire an instructor, and tackle the Sava or Lake Bohinj with their assistance. The more experienced will find pleasure in rowing along the entire stretch of the Sava Bohinjka or making a trip to the Soča region and conquering the Soča’s rapids.

Canyoning
Canyoning is yet another water adventure to be had in the untouched nature, carried out under the watchful eye of an experienced guide. It involves an adrenaline-fuelled descent down natural slides and waterfalls, and jumps into pools in the narrow mountain stream canyons. Canyoning trips in the Grmečica and Jerečica streams in Bohinj are organised by operators based in Bled.
